Our Trip to Rochester, MN

On July 7, we went to Rochester to spend time with family for a few days. It was such a fun, relaxing time with them! We went out on the boat on Monday to fish in the Mississippi. We got to see Ryan before he left for his month-long trip to China. It was a very nice break in our summer!

Independence Day

We had a nice Independence Day...not too busy, but enjoyable. We worked until 11:30 am then went to Iron Mountain to eat pizza and shop some with mom. When we went back, we headed down with mom and her friend to go canoeing at Reflection Lake. We parked in the back of the Fine Arts Center by the girls dorm and guess what we saw there...

...yep! A BEAR!!! We couldn't believe it! I had just seen a bear a couple nights ago in mom and dad's backyard, so I was so excited to see another one. Well, after awhile when the bear wasn't moving at all we realized it was a joke someone was playing on a family here for family camp. We were walking down towards the trail to Reflection Lake and heard screaming coming from the dorm, so we figured the family had found the bear :) Hey, it fooled us too!

What's 4th of July without Fireworks!!! We got some bottle rockets and shot them off!

To make it even better we had a bonfire, hotdogs and s'mores....mmmmm



We came home black and smokey, but we had fun! :)
